De'Anna Lynn Lewis-Smith

Our mother, De'Anna Lynn "Deedle" Lewis-Smith, was one of the strongest women to ever walk this earth. Our family was blessed to have had her as the head of our family. Deedle, who had a love for butterflies, was born on April 22, 1967 to Orville P. Smith and the late Augusta Jane Lewis in New Albany, Indiana. She immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. De'Anna graduated from New Albany High School in 1985 as a loyal friend and mother, with a passion to care for others and family. After graduating, she went on to pursue a career in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant. De'Anna was no stranger to hard work and dedication, making the impossible happen for those she loved and cared for each day.

Along with her mother, De'Anna is preceded in death by her brother, Domnicki Lewis. Along with her father, De'Anna is survived by her children, Little De'Anna McPheeters, Adrianna-Daychelle Smith and Chance I'an-Patrick Tobin; grandchildren De'Andrea, De'Airra, Trice and Traveon; siblings, David Lewis, Michelle Lewis, Roderica Lewis-Brock (Andre), Shalonda Smith and Aaron Smith (Darra).

De'Anna was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children, raising all three of them to go on to accomplish great things in life. Family came first and was above all else to Deedle, a value she instilled in all those around her. She was a God fearing woman and the hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Howard Chapel Baptist Church, (1715 E Market St, New Albany, IN). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at the church with burial to follow at the West Haven Cemetery in New Albany.
