Deanna King, a devoted Mother and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. Born on December 3, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio, Deanna's life was marked by her steadfast dedication to her family and friends, a vibrant sense of humor, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Deanna’s educational journey began at Bullitt Central Highschool in Shepardsville, KY and continued at Jefferson Community College, where she pursued Nursing—a career path through which she touched many lives with compassion and skill. Her professional commitment reflected her caring nature, a trait that resonated deeply in both her personal and professional life.
Known affectionately as "Nano," she embraced life wholeheartedly, finding joy in swimming, fishing, and camping. She treasured moments spent conversing and sharing laughter with those she held dear. Deanna had a fondness for movies and had a particular passion for horror and thriller novels, which showcased her unique tastes. Her country style—favoring jeans and boots—was a true expression of her personality.
Equally passionate about horseback riding, Deanna balanced her adventurous spirit with the warmth of close relationships. Above all, she was immensely proud of her son, Colt King-Baker, whose accomplishments and presence were a source of great pride and happiness.
Deanna is lovingly survived by her son, Colt King-Baker; her mother, Lorene Baker; her brother, Anthony King and his wife Michelle; her nephews, Michael Payne and his wife Marlena, Austin King, and Samuel King; her niece, Emily Denton and her husband Shane; as well as her great nieces Madilyn and Elizabeth Denton. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will carry forward her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father, JB King, and her grandparents, John and Bonnie King, and Harlan and Ethel Moore.
Family, friends, and all who knew Deanna are invited to honor her life at the Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. A visitation will be held on June 8, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
