Dean Davenport Sawyer, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 1, 2018. He worked for Krispy Kreme, Kroger and Circle K. He was a member of the class of 1962 at The Citadel in South Carolina.
Dean was born on April 23, 1940 in Concord, New Hampshire to the late Nathaniel and Pauline Sawyer. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Dana and David Sawyer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Karyn Sawyer; children, Dina Davis (Chris) and Mandy Angalet; sisters-in-law, Julia Washburn (Garry), and Judy Parr (Keith); nieces, Julie Sawyer, Laura Truell (Randy), Kim Young (Jeff Rogers), Kelli Fleitz (Matt), Kristin Maupin (Jacob); his two beloved cats, Max and Maggie Sawyer; and many grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), a funeral service to honor the life of Dean will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
