Dean Alvin Poynter

Dean Poynter, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Dean loved to golf and hunt. he also liked to sing and dance.

He was born on March 21, 1929 in Corbin, Kentucky to Walter and Della (Frazier) Poynter. He is preceded in death by his Father, Walter Poynter, Mother, Della Poynter, Son, Wyler Gilson Poynter, and Grandchild, Joshua Poynter.

Dean is survived by his loving Wife of 68 years, Lois M Poynter: Children, Dallas (Phyllis) Poynter, James (Judy) Poynter, and Art Poynter: Grandchildren, Chad Poynter, Kelly (Tannis) Poynter, and Miranda (Ben) Faulkner: Great-Granddaughter, Cheyenne Poynter. As well as his devoted and spoiled rotten dog Pickle and his dear friend Teddy Gordon.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
