David Worth Jones

David Worth Jones, 74, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully on May 24, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born in Bristol, PA to the late Charles and Barbara (Coghlan) Jones. Dave was an Episcopal by faith. He retired from Rohm and Haas Chemical Company after 38 years of service.

Dave was an avid golfer and past member of Valley View Golf Course for more than 30 years prior to his illness. He was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He did crossword and jigsaw puzzles in record time. Dave enjoyed cooking and sharing his recipes that he always "added a little something extra to" with friends and family. Dave loved his cats Zoe and Mazzie and was a friend to all animals.

Dave is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda (Nunn) Jones; children, David W. Jones (Roxanna), Colleen Jones (Sharon), Beth Jones; grandchildren, Jalen and Sedra Jones, Ella Floyd, Rachel Jones, Amelia Meisser; sister, Kathie Read; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dave chose cremation and he will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Crusade for Children or to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana. The family wishes to thank Hosparus for treating them with great kindness and compassion.
