David Wayne Shimfessel

David Wayne Shimfessel, 55, passed away on August 15, 2015. He was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and playing cards, especially Texas Hold'em and supporting his UK Wildcats. You could always find him driving his baby blue BMW, spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved traveling the world with his beloved wife, Kim.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Shimfessel and a brother, Michael Shimfessel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kim Shimfessel; daughter, Tiffany (Paul) Cahill; grandchildren, Sierra, Alyssa, Bryce, Elliot; step-grandchildren, Kenneth, Anthony, Gavin and Paiton; mother, Mable Shimfessel; sister, Telena (Don) Dunn; nephew, Donald Dunn, III and his four legged companion, Ceasar.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from 11am-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of David's life will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 12pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Hwy, Valley Station, KY.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Heart Association, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY.
