David Striegel

David Lee Striegel, 76, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on March 14, 2014.

David was born on July 3, 1937 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Edward & Alma (Andres) Striegel. He worked in maintenance at the Ford Motor Company for 47 years until he retired. David loved spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, hunting, & boating.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Striegel; children, Teresa Engleman (John), Kevin Striegel (Deena), Sam Striegel (Monica), Cynthia Griffee (Dennis), Jonathan Striegel, & Angela Harshey (Ryan); sisters, Patricia Schellenberg (Robert), Mary Cestaro (Tony), & Linda Walker (Mike); brother, Edward Striegel; 13 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Jacobs; grandson, David Jacobs; brothers, Steve, Joe, & Harold Striegel; sister, Jane Hale.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN) with his funeral service being held at 1 PM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
