David "Paul" Scott

David "Paul" Scott, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026. A proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, Paul was also a lifelong antique collector and a successful real estate investor, leaving a significant impact on the city of New Albany. He was respected by colleagues and tenants alike.

Born on December 19, 1949, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to the late Ellsworth and Estella (Hilton) Scott, Paul was preceded in death by his life-partner, Paul McCoy, and brothers, Ellsworth "Buddy Wayne" Scott and Michael Scott.

He is survived by his siblings, Drucilla Thompson, Donna Atkins, Daniel Scott (Debbie), Brenda Prather; sister-in-law, Connie Scott; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany, and will continue on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial and military honors to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Borden, Indiana.
