David Michael Noonan

David Michael "Mike" Noonan, age 67 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020. He died peacefully after a battle with cancer. He was born April 4, 1953 to William ("Bud") and Mary ("Rita") Noonan in Louisville, KY. David attended grade school at Resurrection and graduated from DeSales High School in 1971. David went on to receive several degrees in higher education, including a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Master of Business Administration and a Master of Education. He worked at General Electric and Lithonia Lighting – each for many years. He then began a long career as a passionate school teacher and retired from the Jefferson County Public School system. He enjoyed coaching on many youth sports teams and was an avid member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. He will be missed and loved by his family. David is preceded in death by his father, William ("Bud") Noonan; his wife, Karen Noonan; and his son, Brandon Noonan.

David is lovingly remembered and survived by his mother, Mary "Rita" Noonan; his brothers, Pat Noonan (Sherry), Dan Noonan (Trish), Tom Noonan (Karen), and Kelly Noonan (Tina); his sons, Sean Noonan (Jennifer), Tim Noonan (Margaret) and Brad Messer; grand-children Casey Noonan, Ella Noonan, Brock Noonan, Savannah Jordan and Mason Jordan.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky (in Middletown). A celebration of Mike's life will be at 6pm Thursday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with his son, Brandon, in the near future.
