David Michael "Mike" Akins, 55, passed away on October 8, 2016. His family meant the world to him and he was one of a kind and an avid UK fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Akins; mother, Dean Boyle; step-father, John Boyle and sister, Loretta Akins.
Mike is survived by his sons, Joseph (Jen) Church, James (Kim) Church and Steven Church; father, Thurman (Helen) Akins; sisters, Sherry (Steve) Johnson and Trish (Tom) Renfro; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; nieces, Nikki, Staci, Taylor and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4pm-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) with a celebration of Mike's life beginning at 7pm.
