David Lee Mattson

David Lee Mattson, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. Dave was an avid model car and planes builder. He enjoyed being in the outdoors going fishing. Dave worked for Bell South for over 25 years before his retirement. He was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served in the United States Army. Dave enjoyed a great meal and fellowship with friends and family and really loved Mike Linnig's Cole Slaw and would love going. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and loved his time being with them. Dave will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was born on July 1, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington to John and Celeste (Tohill) Mattson. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Linda Mattson, and Brother, Tim Mattson.

Dave is survived by his Son, Donnie (Robin) Mattson, Grandchildren, Nick (Jaky) Correll, Ryan Mattson, and Logan Mattson, Great-Grandaughter, Quinn Correll, Brothers, Ronnie Mattson, Steve Mattson, Grady Mattson, Riley Mattson, and Grant (Janie) Henderson. Dave also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of Friends and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial and Military Honors to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky.
