Reverend David W. Lott, 89, joined his beloved wife Dorothy in their heavenly home on October 22, 2019. David was born September 9, 1930, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Jesse and Savannah (Collins) Lott. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1948 and earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Braswell, on December 24, 1949. She preceded him in death after 67 years of marriage. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes Lorene (Lott) Irwin, Clifford Barnett Lott, Vergie Mae (Lott) Anderson, Dorris Laverne (Lott) Peters, Jesse Paul Lott, Leroy Winiford Lott, and William Earl Lott.
David is survived by his two children and their spouses, David E. Lott (Sherrill) and Delene E. Taylor (Michael); his three grandchildren, Isaac (Christina), Lara (Adam), and Hanna; and four great-grandsons, Braden, Ryder, Carter, and Evan.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A service celebrating David's life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany, Indiana.
