David Herbert Jones, Jr.

David Herbert "Dave" Jones, Jr., 56, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Dave worked at Philip Morris for 35 years until his retirement. He loved to fish and enjoyed muscle cars. Dave was a gun enthusiast and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He will be remembered for his kind and giving heart.

Dave was born on May 24, 1960 in New Albany, IN. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Irene "Anita" Jones; and Ricky L. Cole, whom he considered his brother.

He is survived by his wife, Katie (Bryant) Goolsby Jones; children, Wil Goolsby (Jalyn) and Brandi Miller (Rob); father, David Jones, Sr.; mother, Doris Riggs (George); sister, Donna Kost (Denny); step brothers, Maurice Longest (Donna), Wayne Longest (Karla), Robert Riggs (Shana), and Danny Riggs; granddaughter, Ella Goolsby; niece, Jessica Estes (Caleb); nephews, Jesse Kost, Shane Cole (Sandy), Dusty Cole (Shae), Travis Cole (Jenna), and several step nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be from 3 PM to 6:30 PM on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Dave's wishes
