David Edwin Hummel, 70, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He had a love for nature and a passion for all types of music, especially jazz. David enjoyed traveling and played various musical instruments.
He was born on July 21, 1947 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late Stuart and Mary Rose (Fackler) Hummel. David is survived by his siblings, Christine Fairchild (Ken), William Hummel (Rita), James Hummel (Judi), Timothy Hummel, Patty Jarboe; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation was chosen following David's wishes and Newcomer – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1 PM to 3:30 PM at St. Augustine Parish Hall (315 Chestnut Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
Contributions in David's memory may be made to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (215 W. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
