David Edward Huber, born on June 1, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away on April 5, 2026.
David dedicated many years of his career to CenterPoint Energy. Throughout his life, he exemplified the values of service and dedication, having also served in the United States Navy. David was a man deeply connected to the natural world, finding great joy and solace in the outdoors, who was particularly passionate about fishing. Beyond his love for the outdoors, David enjoyed bowling, an activity he enjoyed with his late wife, Karen. An avid gardener, he took great pride in cultivating his garden, where his roses blossomed under his careful attention.
Born into a family rooted in Indiana, David was the son of Joseph Huber and Mary Koetter Huber, both of whom preceded him in death. His family was a central part of his life, and he is remembered fondly by his surviving siblings: John Larry (Cynthia) Huber, Doris Wathen, Sr. Katherine Huber O.S.B., Cecilia D'Apice, and Carol Griswold. He also shared lifelong bonds with his siblings who have since passed: Paul Huber, Charles Huber, Norbert Huber, Sr. Rosemary Huber M.M., and Joseph Huber. David was united in marriage to Karen Huber, who recently passed away on December 2, 2025.
Cremation was chosen following David's wishes. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church - Starlight (8310 St. John's Road, Floyds Knobs). He will be laid to rest with his wife, Karen, at the church cemetery.
