David E. Hittle

David E. Hittle, age 58, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Lolo to his grandchildren. David took great joy in being an avid UofL fan, as well as in watching Cincinnati Reds baseball. His love for the outdoors was evident through his many adventures in his side-by-side, and he also treasured traveling with his beloved wife. A man of deep faith, David attended services at Hillview Baptist Church whenever his health permitted. His genuine spirit and kindness will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on May 6, 1967, in Haines City, Florida, David was the son of John and Mary (Nunley) Hittle. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hittle; mother, Mary B. Hittle; and brothers, Johnny Hittle and Jimmy Hittle.

David leaves behind his adoring wife of 8 years, Colleen Hittle; his son, David A.W. (Leah) Hittle; daughter, Bethany Amber Hittle; step-sons, Byron Fisher and Evan (Lamya) Thompson; step-daughter, Olivia Thompson; and grandchildren, Asher Hittle and Clover Thompson. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Visitation for David will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of his life will follow at 6:00 p.m. on the same day at the chapel. David will be laid to rest privately at Jack Meredith Cemetery in Edmonson County, Kentucky.
