David H. Gritton

David H. Gritton, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of 19 years on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

He was born on November 3, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to Harold and Ruth (Vineyard) Gritton. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He touched many people over the years. Whether he played music in his "Patterns of Time" band or told you a joke to make you smile; he was always there. He will always be remembered as the loving, caring, kind and funny man we know as "Big Cheese".

David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sheila Gritton, daughter, Mary Catherine (Aaron) Hoag, daughter, Elizabeth Yvonne (Danny) Wethington, sister, Sue Gritton, mother-in-law, Alma Massey, dear friends whom he called his children and grandchildren, Allen, Lena, Justin and Autumn Garrett, and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 12:30 pm on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
