David R. Glidewell

David R. Glidewell, aged 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 18, 2026. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather affectionately known as "GD," David was cherished as a brother, uncle, and friend.

Born on February 27, 1961, in Louisville, to Kenny and Hannah Glidewell, who preceded him in death, David nurtured a passion for cars, motorcycles, and NASCAR. Known for his love of animals and his adored dog, Peaches, he also enjoyed sharing time with friends, participating in classic car shows, and relishing time spent at the "cement pond" at the home of Terri and Keith. His wit and humor were hallmarks of his personality.

David leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Roxie L. Glidewell; son, Chad (Autumn) Schneider; granddaughters Abbie Dowdy and Bayleigh Hall; sisters Linda Rush and Brenda (John) Morris; Nephews, Robbie Morris and Greg (Amy) Morris; goddaughters Erica Miller and Rachel Miller, along with numerous family and friends who will hold his memory dear.

Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on August 25, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville.
