David Alva "Butch" Fisher, 62, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018. David was very involved in his community of Clarksville where he proudly served on the Clarksville Town Council. He was a member the Knights of Columbus Council 1348 in Jeffersonville and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he enjoyed serving in the Men's Club. David was involved in his family-owned business, Conner Manufacturing, for over 40 years until its closing in 2003.
David was born on April 26, 1956, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late William H., Sr., and Carolyn A. (Stillman) Fisher. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Billy H. Fisher Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Lu (Spitznagel) Fisher; daughters, Amy Brown (Jason), Jessica Wethington (Brian), and Erin Holdaway (Brian); sister, Becky Baldwin; brother, Bob A. Fisher (Myra); stepmother, Teresa Fisher; and grandchildren, Hunter and Hayley Wethington and Keegan Brown.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (316 North Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana) with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's memory can be made to Hosparus of Southern IN (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) or the James Graham Brown Cancer Center for Gastrointestinal Cancer Research (529 South Jackson Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202).
