David Wayne Cotton

David Wayne Cotton, aged 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on September 18, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, David touched the lives of many. Serving as a trustee at his church, he was known for his kind heart and readiness to help anyone in need. He cherished fishing and had a particular fondness for chocolate. His infectious humor and corny dad jokes brought smiles to all who knew him. Above all, his love for his family, especially his wife, Linda, was paramount.

Born on February 23, 1957, in Louisville to James and Sarah Cotton, David was preceded in death by his parents and three angel babies. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda Faye Cotton; children Melissa Pack, Derek Cowan, and Kindra Pack; grandchildren Jessica (TJ) Sauer, Noah Pack, Cameron Pack, and Jordan Pack; and six great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a sister-in-law, Pennie Cotton, cousin Karen (Vance) Helm, dear friend Kim Adams, and numerous extended family members and friends who will continue to treasure his memory.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy. It will resume on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the same location.
