David Patrick Thomas Carney

David Patrick Thomas Carney, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
He was born on November 8, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to John "Jack" and Thelma (Hinkebein) Carney. David graduated from Atherton High School in 1975. He worked for UPS as a Aircraft Mechanic for 30 years. Airplanes were David's passion. He loved working on them, flying them and jumping out of them. He also enjoyed watching movies and Louisville Cardinal sports and playing cash pop at The Pizza Place at Hikes Point. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
David is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Carney; sister, Diane Carney; brother, Danny Carney. He leaves behind to cherish his name his four daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Carney, Katherine (Joel) Gerlach, Meredith (Dave) Hampton, Erin (Tyler) Hargrove; 10 grandchildren, Andrew Crum, Morgan Crum, Delayna Ritter, William Ratliff, Gryffin Hampton, Scarlett Hampton, Thomas Hampton, Olivia Gerlach, Milo Gerlach, Beatrice Hargrove; brother, Perry (Betty) Carney; brother, Jack (Lynn) Carney; sister, Claudia Cassidy; sister, Therese (Glen) Flood; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.).
The family requests that contributions in David's memory be made to the family.
