David L. Butz

David L. Butz, 60, a loving husband, father, and grandpa, as well as a devoted son and brother, passed away peacefully late Wednesday evening, February 3, 2021. David was preceded in death by his father, Carl; his daughter, Stephanie Ann; and his brother, Tom. He is survived by his love of 40 years, Mary. He is also survived by his mother, Fran; his two children, Joshua (Ashley) and Kayla (Jimmy); his three grandkids, Zoey, Locke, and Maximus; and two sisters, Ann and Helen; as well as lots of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

On July 2, 1960, David Lee was born in Noblesville, Indiana, to Carl and Fran Butz. Growing up, David showed a great interest in tractors, engines, and cars. He graduated from Noblesville High School in 1978. He met his wife, Mary, as a junior, and she a freshman. That's where their love grew, and they were married in June 1980. They were blessed with three children (Their middle child, Stephanie Ann, passed away soon after birth). They enjoyed family vacations at the beach and weekends at the lake. David was currently employed at Haas Cabinet in Sellersburg prior to his passing. He also worked as the General Manager at New Albany Tractor for many years, building lasting relationships within the community that started out as customers and grew to friendship. He was always so proud to be a part of the Ford/New Holland family. David had a huge passion for boating and camping out at Patoka Lake. There was nothing more that he loved to do and share with his family and friends. Many nights were spent around the campfire, telling stories of his rowdy days. He was a devoted Christian and was blessed to be surrounded by so many people that he loved and loved him.

He will be dearly missed but would want to remind all of us to celebrate the fact that he is at peace with our Creator, Our Almighty Lord Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, his Funeral Service will be held privately with cremation to follow according to David's wishes.

Expressions of sympathy can be made as donations to medical expenses or a memorial contribution to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of David Butz.
