David L. Board, 78, of Corydon, Indiana, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital. He was born in Watseka, Illinois, to Victor L. and Pearl (Cox) Board on January 10, 1939. He graduated from A.J. Kent High School in Kentland, Indiana, and worked as a mechanic and service representative for various employers including O & K and Terex Corp. until retirement in 2000. He then owned and operated Board Mobile Welding for 6 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julie K. (Le Saux) Board; son, Ronald "Smiley" Board of Elizabeth, Indiana; daughter, Victoria Carpenter (Rick) of Canby, Oregon; 4 grandchildren, Daniel Dawson, Padraic Dawson, and Moira Dawson, all of Oregon, and Lela Board of Louisville, Kentucky; and his brother, John C. Board of Helena, Montana. David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald C. Board of Lafayette, Indiana.
Cremation was chosen, and there will be no visitation or service. Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the Elizabeth (Indiana) Volunteer Fire Department, the New Middletown (Indiana) Volunteer Fire Department, or the American Cancer Society.
