David Wayne Berry

March 18, 1953 — May 9, 2025

David Wayne Berry, born on March 18, 1953, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025. He was a beloved father and grandfather, cherished by his family and friends for his indomitable spirit and vibrant personality. Known to all as a free spirit, David embraced life with a passion that resonated in everything he did.

David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an immense love for music, often immersing himself in the sounds that moved his heart. His appreciation for the art of cinema was evident, and he was known to spend countless hours watching movies, not just for entertainment, but for the stories that stirred his imagination. As someone with a remarkable talent for nurturing plants, he was also celebrated for his green thumb. His garden was a reflection of his character—lively, bright, and full of growth.

Above all, David's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He dedicated himself to his family, fostering bonds that will continue to flourish in their memories.

David Wayne Berry's free spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories filled with love, laughter, and passion for life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dot and Tom Berry.

David leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children, Eric Berry, Lora Smith, Jeremy Berry and Heather Berry; grandchildren, Coty, Ashley, Jessica, DJ, Austin, Anthony, Elizabeth, Alex, Taylor, Tristan and Tia; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; sisters, Donna Soward, Pam Morgan and Cindy Phelps and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-8pm with a celebration of David's life beginning at 6pm.
