Dave Mccarty

Dave McCarty, 74, passed away Monday March 9, 2015 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Dave was born April 7, 1940 in Lebanon, KY, a son of Virgil and Clarine McCarty, both of whom preceded him in death.
Dave is survived by his loving wife Sue McCarty, his sister Evelyn Ransdell and bother Bill McCarty, his children Terry Watzl, Mary Overstreet (Kevin), Gary McCarty (Kay) and Sheri Straub. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Johnny Watzl, Danny Watzl, Lindsey Overstreet, David Alan Straub, Andrew Straub, Ryan McCready, Christina McCarty & Carrie McCarty as well as several nephews, nieces and in-laws.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday March 11, at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Dave was a devoted son, caring brother, loving husband, father and uncle. He will be missed and remembered with love by all.
A celebration of Dave's life will take place Thursday March 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY (502) 245-0095, with Fr. Mike Tobin officiating.
The family encourages you to bring photos, written memories and stories to the celebration.
Entombment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Ronnie Ransdell, Eddie Ransdell, Mike Ransdell, Jimmy Ransdell, Timmy Ransdell & Josh Ransdell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local YMCA.
