Darryl Glenn Karsner

Darryl Karsner, 71, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, to James and Alta (Miller) Karsner.

He loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the local park, and most of all, being with family. It didn’t matter if he was sitting on the deck, calling every day to check in, telling you a life lesson, or joking around, giving you a hard time; he always made time for the people he loved. A lifelong, talented mechanic, he retired from Clark County Auto Auction after more than 30 years of service and continued doing what he loved when he started a rebuild on a 1971 Chevy Chevelle. He will be deeply missed for his kind heart, fun sense of humor, love of family, and the little everyday moments that made him who he was. He may not have been one to say “I love you,” but it was always “see you later,” and we knew exactly what he meant. He may be gone, but the love and memories he left with us will last forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David, Barbara, and Jimmy.

Darryl is survived by his loving wife, Cobie Karsner, daughter, Amanda (Bobby) Windell, sons, Darrin (Mandy) Karsner, Jesse (Stephanie) Karsner, Darryl (Connie) Viers, and daughter-in-law, Melissa Karsner. He loved his grandchildren: Michelle Karsner (Daniel Sprinkle), Elizabeth Karsner (Trent Schamore), Jacob Karsner (Mikayla Graf), Mikayla Karsner, Kaleb Karsner, Ryleigh Windell, Hudson Windell, Noa Karsner, Damon Karsner, Griffin Karsner, and Bailey Viers; and his first great-granddaughter, Isabella Sprinkle. Darryl is also survived by his siblings, Bonnita, Diana, Cherylynn, Linda, Wendell, Randall, and Lorraine.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Friday at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany
