Darryl Dewayne Alvey

Darryl Dewayne Alvey, 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. Darryl was a loving father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was a comedian at heart and would do anything to make you laugh. He loved listening to music and dancing any chance he got. He always loved watching his grandkids play sports and wouldn't miss a game. He loved to be outdoors tending to his yard and his garden. Romeo was his companion and best friend and you would never see them apart. Darryl will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on June 24, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Marilyn (Hicks) Alvey. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Wright; siblings, Lisa Smith and Robin Alvey; step-sister, Patsy Rose; and daughter, Christina.

Darryl is survived by his loving family, father, Charles Alvey; step-father, Bobby Wright, ex-wife, Laura A. Alvey; children, Daniel Alvey, Kristy A. Alvey, Joseph Alvey, and Corey Alvey; grandchildren, Jayden Alvey, Jordan Alvey, and Jovani Alvey; brother, Bobby Alvey; step-sister, Tammy Wright; and most importantly his four legged best friend Romeo. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish his fun loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:30 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
