Darrell Johnson Phelps

Darrell J. Phelps, age 69 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Originally from Morgantown, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Walter and Bonnie Mae Johnson Phelps. He was an elder at the Crestwood Church of Christ and an Air Force Veteran. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James Clifford, Arthur, Elrie, Charlie, Archie and Gerald Phelps and Evelyn Wallace.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Shirley; his daughters, Shelly R. Phelps and Veronica Danette Phelps; grandchildren, Joshua Barnett, Stephanie Barnett, Makenzie Williams, Lucas Barnett, Quentin Barnett, Isaiah Ricketts, Mali Trowell and Elijah Trowell; brothers, David Phelps (Barbara) and Winston Phelps; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday, December 18, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Darrell's life will be 11am Tuesday, December 19th at the funeral home, followed by entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
