Darrell D. Perry

Darrell D. Perry, born December 31, 1935 in Eastview, KY to Myrtle & Albert Perry passed peacefully on January 20, 2017.

He graduated from Clarkson High School in 1954, that same year he attained his senior ambition of marrying Betty DeWitt. Darrell attended the University of Louisville, then transferred to and graduated from Bellarmine College where he became the Controller. He retired from the Council of State Governments where he was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the public purchasing profession.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; his children, Kent Perry, Lisa (Terry) Whitehouse, Leslie Perry, Dale Perry (Meryl Douglas), and Neil Perry; siblings, Bob (Alice) Perry, Larry (Kaye) Perry, Phyllis (Dennis) Erickson and beloved brother-in-law Dr. Shelley Caulder. He adored his grandchildren, Jeffrey Whitehouse, Jason (Tonya) Whitehouse, Mickey Shearer, Allison Shearer and his great grandchildren, Jonathan Whitehouse and Jackson Whitehouse. He had many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that he loved.

The family wants to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses that cared for him, and the staff at Wesley Manor who were so supportive during his final days.

Family will receive visitors at 1:30 pm before the memorial service to be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Overdale United Methodist Church, 515 Overdale Drive, Hillview, KY 40229.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the church.
