February 17, 1946 — September 4, 2020

Darrell Kelien, age 74 of Celeste, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born February 17, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Cecil Daniel Kelien and Grace Louise Brugh Osborne. Darrell was also preceded in death by his step-father, James Osborne. Having entered at the age of 17, Darrell was a 27 year retired Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He was a frequent player and lover of golfing, and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. He was formerly employed in the optometry and communications industries.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sherri; children, Monique Dozer (Chris), Meghan McPeek (Tony), Amy Seabolt (Montey) and Nicole Filburn; grandchildren, Logan, Morgan and Aidan Dozer, Braden, Hunter and Madison McPeek, Luke, Audrey and Nolan Seabolt, and Noah Robertson; brother, Ronnie Kelien (Betsy); and nephew, Coy Kelien (Liz); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky (in Middletown) with a celebration of Darrell's life at 5 pm.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
