Darlene May (Brewer) Nierengarten McDowell, 84, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Born on July 29, 1940, to William and Edith (Lone) Brewer, Darlene lived a life marked by love, resilience, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
Along with her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Nierengarten and Richard "Dick" McDowell; and siblings, Doris and Paul Brewer.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters, Lesa Jacobs (Steve), Karen Sullivan (Jeff), and Brenda DeChari (Jamel). Darlene is also survived by her siblings, Bill Brewer (Mary Kay) and Barbara Voyles (Gary), seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private interment will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care.
