Darlene Patricia Coney

Darlene Patricia (Banet) Coney, 72, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in New Albany, Indiana. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 and the Vietnam Veterans of America club.

She was born on March 20, 1946, to the late George A. and Catherine G. (Helm) Banet. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Don Coney; and sisters, Gerry Seewer and Joann Hauber.

Darlene is survived by her children, James Rupp, Jr., John Rupp, and Dawn Hamby (Bobby); brothers, George Banet III (Jean), David Banet (Barbara), Ronnie Banet (Brenda), and Ricky Banet; and grandchildren, Matthew Hamby, Tyler Dorman, Kelly Rupp and Lucas Hamby.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Prayer Service will be held at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 East 8th Street, New Albany, Indiana). Burial will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
