He attended Rudyard High School, where he stood out as an All-State linebacker-a testament to his early drive and determination. He went on to graduate from Belmont University in 1967. While in college, he became one of the first employees for IBM, launching a professional journey grounded in innovation and integrity.
Danny also proudly served in the United States Army from October 5, 1965, to September 1, 1967. His time in the military reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism-values that would guide him throughout his life.
Following his service, Danny taught middle school English from 1970 to 1974 before dedicating 25 years to the U.S. Census Bureau, where his contributions were both significant and lasting. His commitment to learning and spiritual growth led him to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity in 1980.
Danny’s greatest professional joy came from ministry. He was ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention in Michigan and pastored several churches across Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. He also served as a hospital chaplain at Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. His compassion, leadership, and deep faith touched the lives of many, both within and beyond the church.
An avid reader and lover of literature, history, and music. Danny was also a published author, proudly writing several children’s and adult fiction novels. Above all, he cherished time with family and friends, finding joy in the moments spent with those he loved.
