Daniel Owen Carney

Daniel Owen Carney, 51, beloved husband of Lori Hagest and father of Samantha, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016. He was born to the late Clair Thomas and Sue Helen (Pelkey) Carney on January 28, 1965.
Along with his wife and daughter, Dan is survived by his brothers, Patrick Carney (Cheryl), Joseph Carney; niece and nephews, Sarah Elizabeth Carney, Thomas Bullins, Vincent Hagest; and parents-in-law, Sam and Joyce Hagest.
Dan was a proud father, and loved spending time with his wife and two-year old daughter. He was also a dedicated fan of the Green Bay Packers. Dan was a talented musician and played many instruments, and recently released his first album. As owner of Deck the Walls in St. Matthews, he was grateful for the support of his many loyal customers and employees. Dan was a graduate of Trinity High School and Marquette University.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial visitation will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Campus) in Sellersburg, Indiana.
