Dana Marie Schmeing

Dana Marie Schmeing , 51 arrived at her heavenly home on October 5, 2024. Her family expresses their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers that helped her throughout her journey.

 She was born on June 14, 1973 in Louisville, KY to Joseph and Diana (Schroering) Schmeing. She is preceded in death by her dear mother Diana Marie Schmeing.

Dana was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She had an amazing sense of humor, the spirit of a great heart and was a protector and helper of those in need and she was fiercely loyal to family and friends. She was incredibly strong, generous and independent. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. With a smile that would light up a room, her laughter and love for 80’s music and films will be remembered fondly by her family and friends.

 Dana is survived by her loving father Joseph W. Schmeing, Jr, brothers Joseph Troy (Mary), Daniel (Melissa), Patrick and sisters Becky Coles (Nathan) and Sherry Rice (David) as well as several nieces and nephews.

 Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243). 

 The family requests that contributions in Dana’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hosparus Health of Louisville.
