Dana Charles Barnett

Dana Charles Barnett was born on December 5, 1949, and passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 76.

Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dana was a hardworking, down-to-earth man who believed in treating people right, keeping his word, and helping when he could. He could be a little reserved at first, but those who knew him best knew the size of his heart. If you earned Dana's friendship, you had it for life. After a successful career as a Claims Adjuster with State Farm, Dana retired and continued living by the values that mattered most to him: family, loyalty, and service to others.

Dana enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan who faithfully supported his team through every season. He loved football, a good game of spades, and spending time with family and friends. Whether gathered around a card table, watching the game, or sharing stories and laughter, those moments brought him great happiness.

He and his wife, Eula, were always finding ways to give back, whether through their time, their support, or simply helping someone who needed a hand. Serving others wasn't something they did for recognition. It was just how they lived. Their commitment to helping others and strengthening their community was a defining part of their lives together.

Dana leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Eula Collins-Barnett; children, Robin Barnett and Kimberly Samuels; stepchildren, Deidra Collins, Oretha Flores, and Poppy (Rolanda) Addison; brother, William (Darlene) Barnett; sister, DeNah Barnett; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sons-in-law; nieces; nephews; extended family members; and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Dana's life on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southern Indiana Chapel, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

A reception will immediately follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST at the B.A.Y.A. (Beautiful As You Are) Center, located at 757 E. Lewis and Clark Parkway, Suite 806, Clarksville, Indiana 47129.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to B.A.Y.A. (Beautiful As You Are). Supporting this organization is a meaningful way to honor Dana's memory and continue the spirit of generosity and community service that meant so much to both Dana and Eula.
