Damon Lemar Mills

Damon Lemar Mills, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Damon was a loving and devoted father, son, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a kind, generous, and empathetic soul. Known to be an instant friend to anyone he ever met. He was a talented roofer and mason for many years in Louisville, and would teach his crafts to anyone wanting to learn. His life was filled with love, laughter, and a willingness to help those less fortunate than himself until the very end of life. 

He was born on February 7, 1972 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kermit and Barbara (Simms) Mills. He is preceded in death by his father, Kermit C. Mills, and sister, Mary Margaret Ross.

Damon is survived by his loving mother, Barbara J. Simms, daughter, J.C. Marie Edwards, sons, Josh Grainger, Grant Grainger, sisters, Michelle (Larry) Smith, Alisha (William) Perkins, brothers, Derek (Ebony) Mills, Brian (Ashley) Mills, grandson, Jaceion Lemar Edwards along with many extended family and friends to cherish his memory forever. 

Visitation will be on Saturday, January, 31, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. His Funeral Service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
