Dalton “Matt Matt” McGuffin, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on October 19, 2026, in Louisville. He was born on April 7, 2006, in Louisville, and in his 20 years he left a lasting impression on the many people who knew and loved him.
Dalton was a young man with a fiery and stubborn spirit, but he also had an enormous heart. His smile could light up a room, and he was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He was deeply creative and enjoyed building things with his hands, a gift that showed in the work he loved to do and in the way he moved through life.
He enjoyed manual labor, especially roofing, and he also worked at KFC alongside his brother and little sister. Outside of work, Dalton loved being with his family, listening to music, and doing graffiti. He found joy in simple pleasures, including his favorite snacks—crunchy chips and Twisted Teas—and he brought that same energy and individuality to the people and moments around him.
Above all, Dalton treasured the people closest to him. He is survived by his mother, Melissa Neidlow; his fiancée, Kayla McCauley; and his beloved dog, Bullet. He also leaves behind a large and loving family, including his brothers Justin Carter, Michael Carter (Nikki), Austin McGuffin (Destiny), Eric “Boo” Barbour, and A.J. Mills; his sisters Desirae Carter, Reba Carter (Jason), Halie McGuffin (Otis), Maleah Matrude, Aminah Matrude, Morgan McCauley, and Lexie Wright; his mother-in-law, Lisa McCauley; his father-in-law, John McCauley; his grandmothers, Paula Boone and Patricia “Muffin” Cundiff; and his nieces and nephews, Kingston Carter, Aurora Carter, Kashtyn McGuffin, Legend Mitchell, and Theo Andres. He was surrounded by many who loved him, and his memory will remain close to their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lee McGuffin; his grandfather, Howard Boone; his uncle, Stanley Cain; and his aunt, Rhonda Cain.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on October 30, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
