Curtis Leon Whalin Sr., 58, of West Point, Kentucky was born on August 22, 1962 and left this world on Saturday, March 6, 2021 to return home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Curtis loved to enjoy life by being quite the jokester and was known as Pappy Turd to all his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and having cookouts because he loved to eat.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Denzil and Joyce (Coffman) Whalin. He is preceded in death by his father, Denzil C. Whalin.
Curtis is survived by his loving Wife of 16 years, Gloria DeMar Whalin; mother, Joyce Elizabeth Whalin; children, Curtis Leon Whalin, Jr., Shannon (Timmy) Compton, Malinda Hoffer, Kimberly (Ted) Marbach, and Joey (Nicole) Beckett; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Whalin, Denzil "Tommy" (Sherry) Whalin, Vickie (Lisa) Torres, and Elizabeth "Libby" (Jim) Whalin. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at West Point Baptist Church, (103 N 8th St. West Point, KY 40177). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at West Point Baptist Church (103 N 8th St. West Point, KY 40177) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
