Curtis Leslie Durbin, Jr.

Curtis Leslie Durbin, Jr., 80, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Known by many names that included Bo, Curt, Dad, Grandad, and Uncle Curt, he was a proud 1960 graduate of St. Joseph Preparatory School in Bardstown, where he made many lifelong friendships and never missed a class reunion. Curtis served in the Kentucky National Guard 138th Artillery and was a member of the Local 89 Teamsters. He never stopped driving and continued traveling the world for 22 years following his retirement. Curtis enjoyed visiting with his family, neighbors, and friends. He was a great storyteller, had a good sense of humor, and loved the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. Curtis was a man that never met a stranger.

He was born on April 6, 1941, in Bardstown, Kentucky, to Curtis and Anna (Coyle) Durbin. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Whitmer) Durbin; and siblings, Anna Faye, Lyda Josephine, Miles Edwin, William Jerome, and Joseph Michael.

Curtis is survived by his children, Curtis Durbin III (Bridget), Julianne Turner (Russell), and Jennifer Durbin (fiancé, Jimmie Trotter); siblings, Dorothy Rita, Charles Emanuel, Mary Generose, and Mary Faith; grandchildren, Isaiah, Michael, Samuel, Lillie, Isaac, Rachel, Grace, Daniel, Joseph, Joshua, Lyla, Gessa, and Sophie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church Cemetery.
