O'Brien, Cornelius Gerald, "Con" Sr., born on June 6, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota, son of David Patrick O'Brien and Mary Louise Duclos. He passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 he was 96 years, 10 months and 54 days old.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters along with his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Estelle Garner.
Con was a WWII Veteran, achieving the rank of 1st Lt. After his service, he was a sales man for Brown & Bigelow until 1975. He began his own business, Con O'Brien & Associates and continued working until the age of 92. He was a member of the Kenwood Optimist Club. After Estelle stopped working the two of them became foster parents for Childplace, and from 1981-2000 they fostered 86 babies.
Con is survived by his son, Dr. C. Gerald O'Brien Jr. (Sue Ann Meng); daughter, Rebecca L. Anton (George); six grandchildren, Daniel J. Maloney II, Nancy J. Anton, Jeanette F. Legeret, Cornelius G. O'Brien III, and Caitlin Meng O'Brien; and six great-grandchildren.
The family has chosen cremation and there will be no services scheduled.
