Constance "Connie" Jean Kelley, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2026. Born on December 24, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, Connie’s life was marked by an extraordinary commitment to faith and family, leaving a profound legacy of love to all who knew her.
Connie’s career as a sign language interpreter began at Graceland Baptist Church, during which she touched countless lives with her expertise and compassionate spirit. Her work extended over four decades beyond the church walls as she supported individuals throughout surrounding school systems from kindergarten to college, always striving to bridge communication and foster understanding. Her voice was one of strength and encouragement, often uplifted through song as she sang in the church choir, even going on to create her own album, a reflection of her deep connection to her faith community.
Beyond her professional life, Connie was a member of the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary and Aglow International. Her passion for service drove her to participate in prison and jail ministry and numerous mission trips to far-reaching places such as Nicaragua, Ukraine, and South Dakota, embodying the spirit of generosity and outreach that inspired all who knew her. These endeavors were not merely acts of kindness but a testament to her unwavering belief in making a difference both locally and globally.
Connie held many roles within her family, yet her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly holding the cherished title of "Maw-maw" to her beloved grandchildren. She was a guiding light and source of unconditional love to Rayna Kelley, Caleb Kelley, Jon-Luke Morris, Abby Morris, Emma Kelley, and Peyton Morris, relishing every moment spent nurturing and sharing in their lives.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Gerald "Jerry" Kelley; their children, Matthew Kelley, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kelley, and Noelle Morris; her grandchildren; and her siblings, Ronnie (Jill) Waller, Mike (Pam) Waller, Tracy (Alex) Richards, and Hope Pence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Philip White and Norma (Tharp) Yount.
