Clorine A. Lewellen, age 85, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. A devoted and loving housewife and mother, she was active at her church, Southeast Christian Church, for over 51 years, where she faithfully served the Masters Men for over 25 years. Clorine was a greeter and active in the Women's Circle and enjoyed the Prime Timers Choir. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Clorine was preceded in death by her husband, Morrison "Mo" Lewellen; her parents, George and Zora Durbin; her brother, Carl Durbin; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Brown; and her grandson, Ricky Rosenstiel.
Clorine is survived by her loving children Bonnie Kennedy (Steve), Janet Gilpin (David) and Jerald Lewellen (Lisa); grandchildren, Brian Gilpin, Brent Gilpin, Steve Rosenstiel (Jenny), Emily Lewellen and Jacob Lewellen; and great- grandson, Aarick Rosenstiel; sister, Shirley Brown; brother, Jimmy Durbin (Virginia); sister-in-law, Juanita Durbin; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 1-8pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown and on Wednesday, July 26th from 9am-11am in the Fireside Room at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, KY. A celebration of Clorine's life will be at 11am in the Chapel at Southeast. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
