Clifford (Cliff) Ray Papet, 88, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully in his home on January 22nd, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 25, 1937 where he attended Taylor High School. He then went on to work at Fernald where he proudly worked his way up from the mailroom to photographer. He had many life experiences, but was most proud of his time serving as a police officer. He enjoyed guitars, cars, KFC and Diet Coke. He had many different collections of things to work on in his “little corner of the world.”
Cliff was a man who loved deeply. He met his wife of 66 years by the Coca Cola machine at Fernald and loved her to the fullest from that day forward. He enjoyed joking around with anyone he came into contact with whether that be family, friends, or strangers in a restaurant or doctors’ office. He loved to tell stories and would share with anyone who would listen. He was a loving Dad and Grandpa, and was jokingly known as “Grumps” to the grandkids who knew him best. He continually told everyone how blessed he was with his family and how much he loved them “infinity times infinity.”
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents (Earl and Laura Holland), his brother (Lloyd Papet) and twin sister (Carol Papet). He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Papet - daughters, Raejean Wolf (Neal) and Jill Jones (Bruce), grandchildren - Amber Kathmann, Alicia Nevils (Travis) Kayla Martin (Levi), Billy Nevils Jr. (Danielle), Courtney Robinson (Christian), Jacob Jones (Grace), and Lindsay Jones, along with nine great-grandchildren.
Per the family’s request, they will celebrate Cliff’s life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hosparus Health of Louisville.
