Clarissa F. (Eubank) Alvey, 89, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Clarissa was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and was an Avon representative for 32 years. She enjoyed working alongside her husband for over 65 years on their 200-acre farm raising hogs, cattle, and various game birds. She enjoyed quilting, being with her grandchildren, and growing flowers and plants.
She was born on April 19, 1930, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Ottie and Lora (Butler) Eubank. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles William Alvey, Sr.; siblings, Morris Eubank, Marie Turner, Wilma Hepp, Ralph Eubank, Richard Eubank, and Elsie Faris; son-in-law, Dale Campbell; grandson, Michael Campbell; and granddaughter, Renee Campbell.
Clarissa is survived by her loving children, Charles W. (Janet) Alvey, Jr., Karen L. Campbell, Melynda G. (Jeff) Nash, Sheila A. (Steve) Pennington, and Tammy L. (Marcus) Campbell; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Ann Straney.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Clarissa's memory be made to Hosparus-Community Hospice of Southern Indiana.
