Clarence Lewis Hambrick

Clarence Lewis Hambrick, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on September 2, 2026. He was a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He was the son of Robert E. and Mary Ophelia Hambrick. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior.

After graduating from Council Training High School, he took some classes at Alabama A&M University and completed a certificate program at the Trade School.

Clarence and Lohelen B. were married May 13, 1972. They learned to trust the Lord as they grew together in love, peace, devotion and happiness. They depended on Jesus to keep their family in His mighty hands.

Clarence has been a worker since his youth. Jobs included: farm work; factory worker at Chrysler Corporation; general manager at Atlanta Life Insurance; foreman at PPG Industry; Mobile Classroom Technician at Kentucky State University; machinist foreman at L&N Railroads, until he retired in 1998.

Clarence served the Lord by his faithful service in his churches. He was a faithful regular member of Watson Memorial Baptist and served on the finance team. Before coming to Watson, he was achurch trustee and served on the finance committee at First Baptist Jeffersontown.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters: Alberta Battle, Lillie Hambrick, and brother, Steven Hambrick.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Lohelen B. Hambrick; wonderful children: Anthony Crutcher(Brenda), of Huntsville, AL, Cynthia Hambrick, of Huntsville, AL, Dr. Veda Hambrick Moore (Roderick), of Madison, AL, Dr. Marion Hambrick, of Louisville, KY, and Michael Hambrick, of Tampa, FL;sister, Louise Jolly (Joseph) of Austin, TX, and brother, Melvin Hambrick (Pat) of Chattanooga, TN. Six grandchildren: Brandyn Crutcher, Antonia Crutcher, Natasha Hawk, Nausha Hambrick, Matthew Cleveland and Christian Cleveland; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Clarence and Lohelen enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. There was always somewhere to go and see the sights of the states and islands. Their travel has commenced in this earthly world, but what a joy it is going to be when they continue in their real home...Heaven.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Watson Memorial Baptist Church, 7217 Nachand Lane, Louisville, Kentucky. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Watson Memorial Baptist Church with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
