Clarence Bernard "Barney" Faulkenburg, 77, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015. Mr. Faulkenburg was born on April 24, 1937 in Oriole, Indiana, to the late Clarence Wesley and Daisy (Schlensker) Faulkenburg. Barney was a graduate of New Albany High School in Indiana. He was a retired Tech Sergeant of the U. S. Air Force having proudly served his country for 20 years stationed all around the world.
Following his military career, he and his wife, Judy (Shapley) Faulkenburg of Dover, Indiana, located to Southern Indiana to raise a family and where Barney served the local community for decades as the Owner/Operator of Faulkenburg & Sons Painting and The Fish Hook Restaurant in New Albany. Barney was an active outdoor sportsman; an avid fan of Floyd Central and Indiana University; and a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Mr. Faulkenburg is survived by his daughters, Terri Harvey of Georgetown, IN, Carmen Seitz (Courtney) of Louisville, KY, Jennifer Peters (John) of Georgetown; sons, Scott Faulkenburg (Monique) of the Netherlands and Brad Faulkenburg (Lauren) of Milton, Georgia; grandchildren, Angela Capps, Megan Walter, John Peters, Jeremiah, Jacob, Hannah, Jack, and Claire Faulkenburg; 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Ware and Mary Reidinger.
His Visitation will be from 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, March 22, and 9 to 11 AM on Monday followed by his Funeral Service at 11 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with Pastor Tom Franklin officiating. His burial with military honors will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison where family and friends are welcome.
