Clara Sue Rhea

Clara Sue (Byrd) Rhea, 77, of New Albany, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. Clara retired from B-Bar-B Plastics and co-owned G&S Printing Company in New Albany with her husband. She was a long-time member of Northside Christian Church.

Clara was born on September 21, 1939, in Hiseville, Kentucky, to the late Clyde Byrd and Elizabeth (Coomer) Measels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rhea; daughter, Connie Johnson; siblings, Roger Byrd, Barbara Lindsey, Rondall Byrd, Caroline Harvey, and Wayne Byrd.

She is survived by her son, James Rhea and his wife, Dee; son-in-law, Richert Johnson; sisters, Pam Ballew and Martha Wagner; granddaughter, Erika Johnson; grandson, Tyler Rhea; and step-father, Ray Measels.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, in the chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
