Listen to Obituary

With profound sorrow and deep respect, we remember and honor the life of Cynthia “Cindy” Baumgardner, who departed from this world on July 17, 2026, just nine days after her birthday. Though her time with us was brief, Cindy’s radiance will echo for years to come in the hearts and homes of all who knew and loved her.

Cindy’s life was shaped by a boundless generosity and an unwavering devotion to others. Her kitchen was more than a room—it was a sanctuary where love was made tangible through the warmth of her oven and the thoughtful arrangement of home-cooked meals. To Cindy, catering was never simply a career; it was a calling. Whether orchestrating beautiful wedding spreads or providing comfort through her baking at any joyful gathering, she delighted in tending to every guest with selfless joy and unending care. It brought her immeasurable happiness to ensure that anyone who entered her home left with a full stomach and a lighter heart.

Yet Cindy’s artistry extended far beyond the culinary—her hands could craft anything her imagination conjured. Masterful at making remarkable creations from modest materials, she cherished quiet moments spent doing crafts, always thrilled by the act of bringing beauty into the world and sharing it with family and friends.

Among the gifts of her life, none shone brighter than her devotion to her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished as her proudest accomplishments. She was an unwavering presence at her grandchildren's sporting events, their greatest fan, supporting each goal and triumph with enthusiasm and pride. Extended family knew her affection as well, for Cindy’s heart stretched even to her beloved animals—her pets and “grand-animals”—all found a place in her loving embrace.

Those who were fortunate to know Cindy will forever remember her as loyal, giving, and unfailingly caring. She was the steady hand at the center of every gathering, the friend whose door was always open, and the soul whose thoughtfulness made every occasion brighter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Baumgardner; parents, Chip and Jane Ellis and her brother, Butch Ellis.

Cindy leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Jonathan Roberts, Lyndsey (Daniel) McDonald, Jenna (Ron) Kessinger and Joshua (Brittany) Roberts; grandchildren, Nicholas, Skyler, MaKenna, Raeleigh, Gabriel, Danilyn, Aubrey, Alyssa, Crimson and Paisleigh; fur babies, Sophie, Spooky and Kisses; sister, Sherry (Randy) Hardin; brothers, Brian and Brad Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to pay their respects at visitation services held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Friday, July 24, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. A funeral service will follow at the same location on Friday, July 24, beginning at 1:00 pm, with a graveside service at 2:30 pm.

Though Cindy Baumgardner’s light has dimmed in this world, her spirit lives on through the love she shared, the memories she created, and the lives she touched. As we gather to remember her extraordinary kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished, may we honor her legacy by carrying forward the warmth she gave so freely.
