Christopher L. Sheets

Christopher L. Sheets, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020. Christopher was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Painters Local Union #118 and the Millwright Local Union #1076. He loved to be outside in the sun and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed casinos, antique shops, and traveling to Florida and Tunica, Mississippi.

He was born on October 15, 1947, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Walter and Mary Anderson Sheets. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mark D. Sheets; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Laurel L. Sheets; sons, C. David (Cindy) Sheets, Michael L. (Lisa) Sheets, and Kurt A. (Crystal) Sheets; brother, Kenny (Connie) Sheets; grandchildren, Terry Sheets, Tifany (Austin) Moody, and Mikki, Justice, Keifer, Austin, Kurt Damien, and Aliyah Sheets; great-grandchildren, Aria Davis, and Mia, Mila, and Myla Wallace.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
